All programs at The Oldham County Detention are structured to create an environment for positive change in the offender's life, so they can better serve the community as productive citizens when released. 
     
    GED - Classes to prepare and improve individuals for  final testing to obtain their GED certificate. Multiple classes are offered though the week, as well as onsite  testing. 
     
    AA/NA (Alcoholics Anonymous and  Narcotics) - Taught by  local volunteers 
     
    Religious Services - Are offered Three times a week. 
     
    Law Library - Offender's have access to an always up to date electronic Law Library in their cell. They may access this library daily. 
     
    Work  Detail - State, or County Offenders that are serving time. These offenders  work in the community, Recycling, Road Dept etc. typically receiving time off their sentence. The Work Detail Program  teaches offenders life skills. This program also save the county hundreds of thousands of dollars every year. 
     
    Work  Release - County Offenders that have been sentenced to serve time, but are allowed to leave the facility, and go to  their place of employment. These Offenders must pay $20/day according to the following schedule: 
    
      - If serving less then seven (7) days the entire amount must be paid at the time of booking,
 
      - If serving seven (7) days or  more the offender must pay $140 at the time of booking, then pay $140 weekly  until their release.

    HOME INCARCERATION PROGRAM - Allows offenders to serve their sentence in their home instead of the detention  facility. These Offenders are monitored by a GPS ankle monitor.
